Vehicle Break-In Suspect Caught Red-Handed

Incident Summary:

At approximately 06:30 on 4 August 2026, the Homeland Security SA Control Room received a call via the Glenwood UIP Hotline from a resident on Newton Road, reporting that a suspect was breaking into a parked motor vehicle.

 

The Homeland Security Glenwood UIP TRT was immediately dispatched, with additional Homeland Security units responding to assist. Within minutes, members arrived on scene, found the suspect still inside the vehicle, and successfully apprehended him.

 

The stolen items were recovered. The suspect was also found to be in possession of dangerous weapons and was handed over to Umbilo SAPS for further investigation and processing.
