Posted by Jonathan Nivison on

Glenwood, Durban — 25 June 2026. A motorbike stolen in Bonela was recovered in Congella within hours, after tracking data placed it in Lower Glenwood and Homeland Security units located it concealed near Dalton Hostel.

Summary of Events

On 25 June 2026, at approximately 05:00, Homeland Security SA received information from strategic partner Tracker Connect regarding a motorbike that had been stolen in the Bonela area.

The motorbike's last known location placed it in the Lower Glenwood area. Homeland Security Tactical Units and the Homeland Security Glenwood UIP TRT were immediately dispatched and located the stolen motorbike in Congella Close, near Dalton Hostel.

The motorbike had been concealed beneath plastic sheets, boards and a wooden stepladder in an apparent attempt to avoid detection. A Tracker Connect response member and the owner arrived on scene, where the motorbike was positively identified and recovered.

Why This Matters for Glenwood Residents

Stolen vehicles move through Lower Glenwood and Congella fast, and the window to recover them is measured in hours, not days. What closed this one was a partner alert reaching a unit already on the ground. Homeland Security SA provides armed response in Glenwood and the surrounding Berea suburbs, with response vehicles receiving alarm signals at the same moment as the control room — no verification delay.
