Summary of Events:
At approximately 09:30, a Homeland Security Glenwood UIP TRT member was conducting routine patrols in the Glenwood area when approached by staff from the Astron Garage on Bulwer Road.
Staff reported that a male suspect had stolen items from the store and provided a description of the suspect.
Homeland Security immediately responded and proceeded in the direction indicated toward Bulwer Park. The Control Room was notified, and additional members were dispatched to assist.
During the pursuit, members of the community joined in, and through a combined team effort, the suspect was successfully apprehended.
The suspect was escorted back to the garage where the incident occurred. Umbilo SAPS arrived on scene, and the suspect was handed over for further processing.
