Cable Theft Suspect Caught in Glenwood

INCIDENT REPORT – CABLE THEFT

Summary of Events:

On Sunday, at approximately 11:30, Homeland Security Glenwood UIP TRT received a message via a community crime group reporting a male suspect (1x BM) stripping cables from a streetlight pole on Lena Ahrens Road.

A search was immediately conducted. Upon arrival, members observed a suspect matching the description, walking along Lena Ahrens Road.

Additional Homeland Security units responded, and the suspect was successfully apprehended.

Metro Police members on duty assisted with the transportation of the suspect, who was subsequently handed over to Umbilo SAPS along with the stolen cables for further processing.

The suspect was charged with damage to infrastructure.
