On 25 March 2026, at approximately 07:30, Homeland Security SA received urgent information regarding an attempted armed robbery in the Manor Gardens / Bidston area, with the suspect reported to be armed.

Through rapid analysis of the Homeland CCTV network, it was established that the suspect matched an individual linked to multiple robbery incidents, targeting members of the public during early morning hours.

Our Control Room immediately deployed Tactical Units to the area.

While conducting patrols along Bidston Road, a Homeland Tactical Officer positively identified the suspect. Upon noticing the officer, the suspect attempted to flee on foot.

Without hesitation, the officer pursued the suspect on foot, maintaining visual contact and providing continuous updates to responding units.

Mayville SAPS arrived within minutes, and through swift coordination and teamwork, the suspect was cornered and successfully apprehended.

The suspect, believed to be responsible for multiple robbery incidents in the area, was taken into custody. A firearm was also recovered, and both the suspect and the firearm were handed over to Mayville SAPS for further investigation and processing.
