RECOVERY OF STOLEN VEHICLE

Subject: Recovery of Stolen Vehicle – Silver Suzuki Sedan

Summary of Events:

On the above-mentioned date and time, a Homeland Security Response Officer patrolling in the Glenwood area received an alert from the Snipr via the Glenwood UIP Camera indicating that a stolen silver Suzuki sedan bearing the reg ND 1## ###   had entered the Glenwood Urban Improvement Precinct (UIP) area.


The officer immediately contacted the control room, requesting backup and confirming with the KZN Operational Command Centre (E2) that the vehicle was still listed as wanted under Durban Central Case CAS: ###/08/24.

 

The vehicle was located travelling on Clark Road, and the officer began a tactical follow. The vehicle continued until it came to a stop on Felix Dlamini Road, at which point additional Homeland Tactical members arrived on the scene.

 

Upon the vehicle stopping, the team engaged with the driver, informing him that the vehicle was flagged as stolen. The South African Police Service (SAPS) was immediately contacted via the E2 network, and the suspect was escorted to Durban Central SAPS.

 

At the station, detectives on duty formally seized the vehicle and processed it into the SAP13 .

The driver was handed over to SAPS for further investigation.


Current Status:


The vehicle has been impounded in SAPS custody.


Investigations are ongoing.
