Scenario.
On the above-mentioned date and time, An alert Homeland Security response officer posted in the Glenwood UIP area spotted a silver VW Polo TSI hatch on Clark Road whose occupants were allegedly involved in an armed robbery that was committed earlier that day, according to a BOLO sent out by KZN OCC - IR : 2516895.
The Homeland Security Glenwood UIP TRT officer informed the above-mentioned role players via the Homeland Snipr Whatsapp group and began following the vehicle at a distance, updating the group with his location.
The vehicle was then intercepted on Montpelier Road when the vehicle came to a stop.
The 3x occupants were approached by an Urban Defence Field Unit member who informed the driver that there was a legal issue with his vehicle.
SAPS were immediately informed via the E2 Radio network, and the driver, together with his 2 passengers, was escorted to Umbilo SAPS.
The victim arrived a short while later at the CSC and positively identified the 1x occupant, a coloured male who was immediately placed under arrest, and the vehicle used in the commission of the crime was seized and booked into the SAP13.
The driver and a second passenger could not be positively identified by the victim and were released.
Investigations are still ongoing.
