Scenario:
On 19/03/25 at approximately 10:18 AM, Homeland Security and Urban Defence acted on information received from an informer regarding suspects involved in a home invasion in Westville on 18/03/25. According to the information, three African males were spotted in the Chesterville area driving a white Suzuki, with registration number CJ###ZN.
Homeland Security and Urban Defence immediately began saturating the Chesterville area to locate the vehicle.
Shortly thereafter, the vehicle was detected by the Glenwood UIP ANPR camera linked to Snipr while traveling towards Jan Smuts Highway. The vehicle was spotted on Che Guevara Road.
The vehicle came to a stop at a petrol station in the Sherwood area to fuel up. At this point, the mentioned role players surrounded the suspects and their vehicle. Westville SAPS arrived shortly afterward and placed the suspects under arrest.
While at the Westville CSC, the suspects were profiled, and it was discovered that Accused No. 3 had outstanding warrants for the following cases:
- Brighton Beach Case: ###/##/18 (Failing to appear in court)
- Richard’s Bay Case: ###/##/23 (Theft of Motor Vehicle)
- Pinetown Case: ###/##/19 (House Robbery)
- Brighton Beach Case: ###/##/18 (Section 36: Possession of hijacked vehicle from Sydenham and 2 firearms)
- Westville Case: ###/##/15 (House Robbery)
- Umbilo Case: ##/##/15 (Attempted House Robbery and Rape)
Current Status:
The investigation is ongoing. Detectives are actively following up on leads regarding the stolen property linked to the suspects.
