Summary of Events:

On 15 April 2026, at approximately 16:04, Homeland Security SA received information via a community group regarding a robbery in progress on Dirk Uys Road. It was reported that three suspects were involved, travelling in a white Toyota Etios.

The Homeland Security Control Room immediately dispatched response members to the area. Upon arrival, members identified the suspect vehicle on Bartle Road in Umbilo, heading in the direction of Rick Turner Road.

A pursuit unfolded through Glenwood, during which the suspects drove recklessly, forcing vehicles off the road in an attempt to evade capture. Two Homeland Security Tactical Units maintained visual contact and initiated a coordinated pursuit, relaying real-time updates to the Control Room and supporting units.

The suspects proceeded toward the Cato Manor area, where they lost control of the vehicle and crashed, before fleeing on foot into a nearby settlement.

Cato Manor SAPS was immediately notified and responded to the scene.

Upon inspection of the vehicle, members recovered a firearm and an undisclosed amount of cash believed to be linked to the robbery.

The vehicle was secured and transported to Cato Manor SAPS, where all recovered items were booked into SAP13
