INCIDENT REPORT – THEFT SUSPECT APPREHENDED

Summary of Events:

At approximately 06:30, the Homeland Security Control Room received a call from a member of the public on his way to work, reporting that he had observed a male suspect (1x BM) jumping over a fence in the Manor Gardens area, carrying what appeared to be a car battery placed inside a backpack.

A detailed description of the suspect was immediately circulated to all on-duty Homeland Security members.

Within minutes, a suspect matching the description was spotted, and members gave chase on foot as he attempted to evade capture by jumping between properties.

Unfortunately for the suspect, coordinated teamwork paid off, and he was successfully apprehended by Homeland Security members. The stolen battery was also recovered.

The suspect handed over to Mayville SAPS for further investigation.
