Cable Theft Suspect Apprehended

Summary of Events

At approximately 03:30 on Sunday, Homeland Security received an urgent report from a valued client of a cable-theft in progress on Penzanse Road. Homeland Security units responded within minutes.

Officers located a male (1x BM) pushing a green wheelie bin matching the suspect description. The BM was in possession of stolen cable, and cutting tools were found on his person.

A field inspection confirmed the cable belonged to Telkom. The Telkom Cable Theft Unit was notified and arrived on scene shortly thereafter.

The suspect was handed over to Umbilo SAPS for further processing and investigation.
