Summary of Events:

Homeland Security SA received information from security personnel operating in a neighbouring community regarding a suspicious silver Toyota Corolla (Reg: BFXXXXXX) with four male occupants that had entered the Umbilo area after being briefly lost from sight.

Homeland Security Tactical Response Units were immediately dispatched to search for the vehicle. Within minutes, the vehicle was located parked outside a medical facility in the Umbilo area.

Officers approached the vehicle and interviewed the occupants. Upon inspection of the vehicle documentation and identification markers, it was discovered that the VIN number affixed to the vehicle had been tampered with and did not correspond with the licence plates displayed.

Umbilo SAPS was immediately notified. The vehicle and all occupants were escorted to Umbilo SAPS for further processing.

The vehicle was booked into SAP13, and the matter remains under active investigation by Umbilo SAPS.
