Date of Incident: June 2025
Location: Glenwood Area, Durban
Summary of Events:
On 29 May, Homeland Security received intelligence from crime-fighting partner Mobi Claw 911 regarding a robbery at a construction site in the Pinetown area. Surveillance footage capturing the suspects and the vehicle used in the theft was promptly shared.
Acting on this information, a coordinated inter-agency operation was launched.
Several weeks later, While our Our tactical units where patrolling the Glenwood UIP precinct, received a real-time alert that the suspect vehicle had entered the area. The intelligence was immediately shared across tactical teams, including various Security companies, who joined the search effort.
Within minutes, Homeland Security’s Tactical Response Unit successfully located the vehicle parked near a well-known restaurant in Glenwood. Additional support from Homeland Security Glenwood UIP TRT and Patron Shield PGIUP arrived swiftly on scene, leading to the detention of two BM
Pinetown SAPS detectives were notified and arrived shortly thereafter. The 2 BM and vehicle were transported to Pinetown SAPS for further investigation.
This operation showcases the power of collaborative intelligence-sharing between private security firms and public law enforcement.
