Suspect Arrested After Stolen Nissan Bakkie Recovered in Glenwood UIP

Summary of Events:

 

On 13 December 2025, at approximately 06:00, Homeland Security SA Tactical Teams received an alert regarding a recently stolen white Nissan bakkie, linked to a Pinetown case (CAS 188/12/2025).

 

Homeland Security units immediately initiated a search. Moments later, a Homeland Security Glenwood UIP TRT member spotted the vehicle at a popular petrol station just off Che Guevara Road.

 

Backup was requested, and additional tactical units responded swiftly, surrounding the vehicle

The suspect and vehicle were escorted to Umbilo SAPS, where the driver was formally charged under Section 36 – possession of suspected stolen property. The vehicle was booked into SAP13.

 

This matter remains under active investigation by Umbilo SAPS.
