Armed Robbery Suspects Apprehended in Glenwood

Incident Summary:


At approximately 01:40, an urgent alert was received reporting an armed robbery that had just occurred in the Glenwood area. The suspects —four Bravo Males—were alleged to be armed with knives travelling in a white Ford Bantam.


While on routine patrol, one of our Homeland Security Tactical Response Teams spotted a vehicle matching the exact description provided. Observing four occupants fitting the profiles provided. Acting swiftly, the officer called for immediate backup.

Within seconds, an additional Homeland Security Glenwood UIP Tactical Response unit arrived.


The officers strategically surrounded the vehicle and safely detained all four suspects on-site without resistance.


Umbilo SAPS arrived shortly thereafter to formally arrest the suspects and impound the vehicle involved.
