Minutes After Hijacking — Homeland Security SA Finds the Vehicle

Posted by Jonathan Nivison on

Summary of Events:

While conducting routine patrols in the Glenwood area, Homeland Security SA TRT Response units spotted a white Toyota Vitz (Reg: CN####) abandoned alongside Bulwer Park.

Upon inspection, officers found:

  • The keys were still in the ignition

  • Music playing

  • No occupants anywhere in sight

This immediately raised suspicion.

Upon further investigation, our team established that the driver had just been hijacked minutes earlier and was at Umbilo SAPS reporting the incident at that very moment

Shortly thereafter, Umbilo SAPS and the victim arrived on the scene. After confirming the vehicle, both the victim and the vehicle were escorted back to Umbilo SAPS for formal processing.

The vehicle was booked into SAP13 for further investigation.
