Accident which turned into a recovery of stolen vehical

Posted by Jonathan Nivison on

Earlier last night the Glenwood UIP Homeland TRT responded to an Accident on the corner of Helen Joseph and Lena Ahrens road. He was patrolling and witnessed the accident. 2 x vehicles were involved. Standard practise is for the member on scene to check the Discs and Vin numbers. On checking the Vin of the VW Polo he noticed the VIN number and the disc’s Vin do not match. He immediately asked Control to do a VIN check which confirmed that the vehicle was sought and reported as stolen. 2 x suspects were handed over to Saps and they decided to only arrest the driver. Well done to our TRT member. Vehicle was also running false plates.
