SUCCESS REPORT
Subject: Theft Out Of Motor Vehicle Suspect Apprehended
Incident Date: July 2025
Location: Glenwood, Durban
Summary of Events:
On 19 July 2025, at approximately 10:30 AM, Homeland Security received a report from a resident regarding a theft out of a motor vehicle on Newhaven Road. After assisting the resident, a case was opened with Umbilo SAPS (Case No. 200/07/2025).
Video footage of the incident was provided, enabling our Tactical Response Teams to note the suspect’s clothing and physical description.
Over a week later, the Homeland Security Special Operations Team spotted an individual matching this description at the corner of Helen Joseph and Cato Road.
Backup was immediately called, and additional Homeland Security Tactical members, along with Homeland Security Glenwood UIP TRT officers, arrived on the scene. The suspect was successfully surrounded and apprehended at Meyrick Bennett Park.
Umbilo SAPS was notified and arrived on scene within minutes. The suspect was subsequently transported to Umbilo SAPS for further processing.
