Success Report:
We received an emergency msg that there was a break in progress, Homeland Security Officer and members from Urban Defence Field Unit responded to a complaint. Witnesses stated that 4 x Bravo Male suspects were breaking into a residence on Bank Terrace.
Whilst en-route to the residence, Urban Defence members made contact with Homeland Security Officers who shared information regarding the suspects whereabouts. The members then noticed 2 x Bravo Males carrying blankets that appeared to be wrapped around something.
The suspects then noticed the members approaching them and threw the blankets on the floor and ran towards Dale Road. After a short foot pursuit, both suspects were successfully apprehended by the Urban Defence Field Unit and Homeland Security members.
The suspects were taken back to where they had thrown the blankets and members found 3 x flat screen TV’s wrapped inside the blankets. The members then contacted SAPS and members from the SAPS District Trio Task Team arrived and interviewed the suspects. The suspects then admitted to committing the house break-in and theft of the TV’s. The suspect had identified the residence where the incident occurred and it matched the description given by members of the public.
The suspects and stolen items were then taken to Mayville SAPS for processing and further investigation. Both suspects were charged for house break-in and theft.
