Success Report:
We received a message from a community member on our local emergency group that some electricity cables were stolen during loadshedding. We immediately mobilized two of our members and with the help of community members and our camera controller managed to follow the suspect and arrest him.
He was caught with the cable and pliers and handed over to Mayville SAPS. Well done to our tactical member as well as everyone else that assisted. EThekwini Municipality Cable theft unit is at Mayville Saps and have positively identified the cable. Hopefully they charge him with damaging essential infrastructure.
